PV Green’s installer network installs gridX’s white-label HEMS in Germany

  • Under their ‘ELIO’ brand, PV Green’s network will now install gridX’s home energy management system (HEMS)
  • Thanks to the manufacturer-independent HEMS, the franchise company’s end customers gain immediate access to self-consumption optimization, dynamic tariff optimization and time-variable grid fees, as well as flexibility trading and direct marketing starting in 2027
  • As a result of the fast, closely coordinated rollout with gridX, PV Green aims to install 600 ELIO HEMS by the end of the year

Wunstorf/Aachen, Germany, July 28, 2026 – PV Green, a franchise company for independent installer companies in Germany, and gridX, one of Europe’s leading HEMS provider and aggregator of household flexibility, announce their partnership. Under the name ELIO, PV Green will install gridX’s white-label HEMS, consisting of a local gateway and a cloud-based energy management platform. This enables end customers in the network to operate residential photovoltaic (PV) systems, home storage systems, heat pumps and wallboxes from more than 50 international manufacturers in compliance with Paragraph 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Paragraph 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).

Uniform structures for decentralized installer companies

PV Green operates as a franchise system for the fragmented German market of small installers. Those who join the network benefit from established infrastructure, including experienced electricians and solar technicians, a dedicated support team with direct points of contact and assistance with local marketing. The network of over 20 master technician branches nationwide has already rolled out more than 10,000 distributed energy resources, aiming to grow to 30 branches in 2026 and 70 by 2030.

Scalable solution for energy consumption optimization, flexibility trading and direct marketing

The HEMS does not need to be installed in the meter cabinet, which avoids a traditional DIN-rail mounting. This minimizes the risk of errors and keeps PV Green’s installation time to about ten minutes. Thanks to deep integration and interface logic with the distribution system operator (DSO), time-variable grid fees (Paragraph 14a EnWG, Module 3) are automatically applied, rather than having to be manually entered and maintained by DSOs or end customers.

By 2027, ELIO will be easily connectable to smart metering systems and control units. At that point, end customers will have access to dynamic tariffs as well as monetization of their own household flexibility on the day-ahead and intraday electricity markets. With the rollout of ELIO, PV Green and gridX are also laying the technical and regulatory foundation for households to continue monetizing the feed-in from small PV systems profitably through direct marketing from 2027 onwards. This allows them to counteract an extended amortization period for PV systems.

Rapid rollout through hands-on implementation and operating support

As part of the onboarding process, gridX provided PV Green branches with training on technical support, sales and installation. This kept the time from contract signing to ELIO product launch short, supporting PV Green in its goal of installing 600 HEMS by the end of this year.

Hanno Abdulrahman, Managing Director of PV Green, says: “ELIO delivers exactly what our customers desire: the system installs in about ten minutes, reduces electricity costs from day one and already enables dynamic tariffs, as well as direct marketing from 2027. With gridX, we have Europe’s strongest technology partner by our side to bring professional energy management to where the energy transition is decided: in our customers’ homes, installed by a master technician from the region.”

Anne Bicking, CEO of gridX, adds: “We are very pleased about the strong collaboration with the PV Green team and their decision to let us bring ELIO to life. After all, it is small and medium-sized installers that account for around 80 percent of the German HVAC market and have an incredible impact on the success of the decentralized energy transition.”
