Aachen, Germany, July 8, 2026 – gridX, Europe’s leading provider of hybrid home energy management systems (HEMS) and aggregator of household flexibility, and Sigenergy Technology, an international original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of energy storage systems, solar inverters and EV chargers, have signed a ‘Ready for gridX’ partnership agreement. The collaboration further increases the number and variety of distributed energy resources compatible with gridX’s white-label HEMS, thereby expanding the range of solutions for energy utilities, installers and households in Europe.
Technical synergies and commercial collaboration
Local communication between the HEMS gateway and the Sigenergy devices is based on the Modbus protocol. Upon successful connection to XENON and receipt of the associated ‘Ready for gridX’ certification, households will have full access to the entire range of HEMS functionalities, from simple local system optimization to flexibility trading. The HEMS ensures regulatory compliance of all household systems with Paragraph 14a of the German Energy Economy Act (EnWG) and Paragraph 9 of the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG) and enables Sigenergy devices to participate in direct marketing, which will take effect in 2027.
The two partners work closely together on both a commercial and operational level. This includes coordinated technical support processes for the fastest possible troubleshooting, as well as firmware and lifecycle management. Supporting this collaboration is a dedicated toolkit that helps ensure reliable device operation throughout the product lifecycle while enabling independent firmware updates by both partners. This allows utilities and OEMs to deploy and operate the solution reliably at scale, while remote configuration simplifies the installation process for installers.
The initiative’s guiding principle: seamless connectivity
‘Ready for gridX’ aims to continuously expand gridX’s OEM ecosystem as well as the breadth and interoperability of XENON-compatible devices. This benefits energy utilities and large installers in need of a white-label HEMS, as well as their end customers. Sigenergy is the seventh international OEM in the program, joining companies such as KOSTAL and Huawei.
Jonas Quilitz, Chief Product Officer and Managing Director at gridX, says: “End customers demand that installers offer the widest possible variety of devices, combined with maximum connectivity and regulatory compliance. That’s why we’ve always designed our HEMS to be highly interoperable, ensuring it works seamlessly with all common devices from our international partners. We are excited – not only personally, but especially for our ‘Ready for gridX’ team – to start implementing the devices from our new, progressive partner Sigenergy Technology.”
gridX will share an update across its corporate channels once the integration of the SigenStor and the Sigen EV AC Wallbox with XENON is complete.
